About Dr. Lauren Diamant M.V.B.
I was born in the small upstate town of Anderson, South Carolina in the United States. I grew up with a love for animals as well as reading and writing. In the hopes of one day attending vet school, I studied at the College of Charleston and obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Delighted after receiving admittance to the Veterinary College at the University College of Dublin, I went on to thoroughly enjoy and fall in love with Ireland. After graduating from UCD, I travelled to Hollywood, Florida where I undertook a 13 month internship in small animal medicine and surgery. The Hollywood Animal Hospital internship was intense. It included solo surgery and clinical work, and the responsibility to write informative website columns for clients. Afterward, I worked as a full time small animal practitioner in Pennsylvania for 2 years. I found myself yearning to return to that magical Emerald Isle where I’d met my husband, and to begin a family. We made the move and spent most of our money flying our dog and two cats over with us. Domestic and veterinary adventures continue as I currently work as a veterinarian in Galway, Ireland. I also write in my free time and was recently published in Autumn, 2018 edition of Little Gems Magazine. I live on my father-in-law’s sheep farm with my husband and two daughters, our dog, three cats, and four chickens—the clan grows in numbers every year!
