Thanks, Harry. It’s taken a little while, but I’m beginning to be able to identify it and appreciate more and more. Glad you enjoyed the post!

  1. It’s a warm feeling to think once again about the stories of James Herriot. I’m sure he nurtured my love of animals when I was a child. Contrasting your experience with the advances in veterinarian medicine with those of the beloved doctor gives me hope that the personal has not been lost. Your warmth and candor opens up this vast practice with the same lasting touch of a human who cares. Best wishes to you, I look forward to every blog.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Carolyn. I’m so glad you enjoyed this post. It’s my favorite at the moment; mainly because I get to write about my favorite author and vet, James Herriot!

Very well written and as a fellow vet can testify to how accurate it is. Love the blog Lauren, look forward to the next post!

I loved this Lauren! I’m not a vet, but I think professionals in many sectors can relate to this insecurity. Stupidly enough, we all think everyone else is better equipped and more up to the job than we are. And as a cat owner, vegetarian general animal lover, I’m happy to see there are amazing caring animal doctors out there! 🙂

Hi Leonie, thanks so much for your comments-you’re right, many professionals, especially younger ones, often struggle with confidence within their field. It can cause mixed emotions and confusion in regards to how they feel about their chosen career. And there definitely are caring veterinary professionals out there! I have the pleasure of working and socializing with some of the most conscientious and kind nurses and vets here in Ireland.
